Trailer weight check
A boat's displacement is not its towing weight. This adds the trailer, the fuel and water aboard, and the gear you actually carry, then checks the total against driving-licence towing limits and the practical road rules that stop most people first. Guidance, not legal advice — your tow vehicle's own plated capacity and the trailer's own plate always govern.
Nothing picked — the boxes below can be filled in by hand.
The weight actually being towed
Every allowance below is an editable input with a stated default — none of it is hidden inside the total.
Driving-licence towing limits
What stops most people first
This is guidance, not legal advice
The figures above are estimates from the inputs you gave. The number that actually governs on the road is on two plates: the trailer manufacturer's plate (its own MAM, which this estimate must stay under) and the tow vehicle's handbook or plate (its own towing capacity and its permitted gross train weight, which may be lower than any licence limit allows). Always check both directly before you tow, and check the rules for the specific country you are driving in — licence categories, weight definitions and road-width rules differ by country and have changed over time.
