What is asked for, and when. Looking around asks for nothing — no
account, no name, no email — and what the site picks up while you look
stays in your browser, where you can read it and delete it. Three things
do ask, because none of them can work otherwise:
- Getting in touch — an email, and only if you want an answer. Leave it blank and the message is still read.
- The newsletter — an email address. That is the whole of it.
- Claiming an organisation — your name, your role there, and an email at that organisation. The address is the check: we check every claim ourselves.
Telling us what you're after, offering to help, or answering something a club has posted sends what you typed and the way back you chose to leave. What you looked at on the way there does not go with it.
See exactly what your own browser has picked up, and delete any of it, on your profile.
Cookies. Free Sailing doesn't use them. What it remembers, it
remembers in your browser's own storage, and only on this device.
How the content works. Everything here is public information, shown
in the words of the organisation that published it, with a link back to
them. Free Sailing lists and links; it doesn't sell, broker, carry or hold
money for anything shown — a boat, a berth, a course, a place — and you
deal directly with the seller or organisation. Free Sailing is powered by
World Sailing Day and is not the operator of any club, school, event or
charter listed on it — the organisation behind the page you follow is
responsible for what they offer.
Accessibility. Pages respect a device's reduced-motion setting, carry
a skip-to-content link, and the menus work from a keyboard as well as a
mouse. If something doesn't work for you, tell us.
